Why Should Local Businesses Use Local Community Facebook Groups?
Whilst Facebook's overall growth has slowed down in recent years, groups have continued to buck that trend, showing particularly strong growth in the last few years.
In particular, local community groups are becoming an important area for local businesses to have a presence.
As a local business owner/admin, you can use groups to:
- Post adverts: Most groups have a specific day when ad posting is allowed. Try to vary your content, making it useful and unique to the community where you can. Don't forget that people can search groups for content, so your post might get found on a non-advertising day.
- Respond to recommendations: It's common for local residents to ask for a recommendation for a service/product. When you're in the group, you are best placed to recommend yourself, and also respond to others that recommend you.
- Add value to the community: Try to add more than you take by adding useful comments, liking posts, and helping people out if you have an opportunity (e.g. providing a quick tip for someone who has posted a problem that you specialise in solving).
